Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) – At a Glance
Duration: 1-day course
Course Covers:
- Role and responsibilities of a first aider
- Assessing incidents and ensuring scene safety
- CPR and use of an AED (automated external defibrillator)
- Managing an unresponsive casualty
- Choking – recognition and treatment
- Wounds, bleeding, and shock
- Minor injuries (cuts, grazes, bruises, burns, etc.)
First Aid at Work (FAW) – At a Glance
Duration: 3-day course
Course Covers:
- All content from the Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) course, plus:
- Secondary surveys and detailed casualty assessments
- Managing a wide range of injuries and medical conditions from head and spinal injuries to poisoning and anaphylaxis
- Major illnesses ranging from heart attack and stroke to seizures and epilepsy
